A common issue budding hypnotist’s face when trying to hypnotize
others is lack of time; especially in a non-therapeutic environment. For
example, if you’re trying to hypnotize your friend or use conversational
hypnosis in a sales situation, the amount of time you have to induce a
trance is much shorter than a hypno-therapist would have in a typical
therapy session.
One of the key skills, then, is to learn how to hypnotize someone
instantly. What this means is to quickly be able to induce a trance, and
from there drop hypnotic commands and post-hypnotic suggestions, all
within a very short time span. This style of hypnosis completely avoids
relaxing visualizing and progressive state changes, and instead aims to
hypnotize someone instantly.
Learning how to hypnotize someone instantly can be a tricky thing. You
must first learn how to induce a mild trace through everyday speech,
without tripping off the conscious mind. This is done through a
combination of embedded suggestions, Ericksonian hypnosis, pacing and
leading, as well as a powerful hypnotic tonality.
From this mild trance state, hypnotic or post-hypnotic suggestions are
dropped into the subject’s mind, again without tripping the conscious
filters. This is a common barrier in learning how to hypnotize someone
instantly – You cannot simply say “You will like me,” as that sounds
awkward and would instantly trip a mental alarm.
Instead, you must use embedded commands in your sentences, convey your
message through a hypnotic story, or mildly confuse the conscious mind
while delivering a message the subject’s subconscious. All these
techniques require practice, and testing them out in the real world may
not be a great idea.
To learn how to hypnotize someone instantly, it’s best to start with a
model or example you can learn from. Trying to put together theories and
coming up with your own patterns and style from the outset can be a sure
recipe for failure.
